D.15.R - THE AIR THREAT IN THE 2015 TIMEFRAME

This study is based on the assumption that we are dealing with air forces, which have a whole range, of modern and sophisticated air warfare assets, and air forces with limited capabilities, which often include a few sophisticated systems. For the main part, it involves fixed?wing aircraft, rotary?wing aircraft and remotely piloted vehicles, as well as other aerodynamic vehicles. Defence against tactical ballistic missiles, whilst of vital importance is not currently one of the missions carried out by most of FINABEL Land Forces

A.12.R - THE EMPLOYMENT OF NON-LETHAL WEAPONS IN TASKS ASSIGNED TO FINABEL LAND FORCES

The aim of the study is to identify the various situations in which non-lethal weapons could be used by FINABEL land forces, either in isolation or in conjunction with conventional weapons.

A.20.A - COMBAT TYRES

tyre2
The combat tyre must have qualities as similar as possible to those of the tyre with radial casing and with all-terrain tread, and have, as soon as possible, characteristics that have been standardised within FINABEL. Following being punctured it must enable the vehicle to maintain a level of mobility compatible with pursuing the mission in the conditions set in this Agreement.

A.11.R - EMPLOYMENT OF FORCES UN HUMANITARIAN ACTIONS

The aim of the study is to :

  • describe the framework in which such a mission will be carried out;
  • define the basic principles for humanitarian action;
  • set the possible missions to be performed;
  • define the methods for preparing and performing the action.

It could be of assistance in the preparation and commitment of FINABEL forces in humanitarian missions, as part of a multinational assistance force.

D.10.R - ANTI AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY IN CRISIS

ANTI AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY IN CRISIS AND IN PARTICULAR IN THE CONTEXT OF MULTINATIONAL AIRMOBILE  OPERATIONS

The aim of the paper is to establish a general concept of operations for the employment and implementation of anti aircraft artillery forces in various military engagements in time of crisis and to draw to the attention of FINABEL nations to any short comings that are identified, either nationally or multi nationally, in their ability to provide anti aircraft artillery defence in various operations and in particular in the context of multi national airmobile operations.

K.18.R - THE AIRMOBILITY CONCEPT

Study K.18.R sets out to harmonise understanding, within FINABEL forces, of the way in which "airmobility" (according to the NATO definition given in AAP-6) can be used and if possible suggest the direction that this airmobility concept should take during the next 20 years

A.10.R - THE EMPLOYMENT OF INTERPOSITION FORCES.

The purpose of the study is :

  • to describe the general framework in which this type of action can be used,
  • to identify the nature of threats which the forces charged with carrying out the action will face,
  • to define the particulars of preparing to execute the action,
  • to lay down principles of organisation.

F.17.R - SURVIVAL OF ARTILLERY IN COMBAT IN THE 2010 TIMEFRAME

The role of the Artillery includes 2 main tasks:

 - a specific task of aggression in depth (up to approximately 100 km), as early and as far as possible;

 - a support task for the benefit of contact arms.

The aim of this report is to analyze the survival of surface-to-surface Artillery in the 2010 timeframe, identifying the technical and tactical measures to be adopted with a view to optimizing its operational capability during combat, taking account of the roles allocated to it.

K.6.R - OPERATIONAL SUB-CONCEPT OF USE BY RAM AIR PARACHUTES MICROLIGHTS OR AUTOGIROS

As all the above-mentioned resources can be set up unobtrusively in enemy disposition, the joint mission which can be carried out by means of these resources corresponds to infiltration into the enemy rear areas in order to provide intelligence, prepare, facilitate subsequent friendly engagement and/or carry out "commando" type actions.

K.9.C - Authorisation Procedures for parachuting in FINABEL countries

This Convention represents an agreement between the contracting parties, members of the FINABEL organisation, on the conditions and procedures in accordance with which the parachutists of their Armed Forces may take part in common airborne activities or operations over the territory of any FINABEL country, using parachute equipment, from aircraft, belonging to FINABEL countries
