G.25.R - MODIFICATION OF CBRN DEFENCE ACCORDING TO LESSONS LEARNED FROM RECENT OPERATIONS

MODIFICATION OF CBRN DEFENCE ACCORDING TO LESSONS LEARNED FROM RECENT OPERATIONS IN MULTINATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
After September 11th 2001, many countries and organisations developed new concepts of operations in the context of CBRN defence. At least some elements of these have been tested in recent operations on different theatres. However, the results have not always been shared between nations, denying their full value. This study has sought to assemble, summarise and draw preliminary conclusions from the lessons learned in order to allow all the Finabel countries to benefit from those experiences. To this end, it is proposed that an interactive record of CBRN Defence LL should be created and maintained as a living repository of operational experiences, difficulties and possible remedial actions.

G.17.R - FUTURE OBSTACLES

All types of operations, including peace support, will be taken into consideration and the proposed uses will come within the scope of classic and new concepts of commitment of the armed forces. All types of obstacle will be taken into account. Obstacles of the future will have to comply with the rules laid down in international legislation on restrictions or ban on the use of certain weapons and environmental protection. The study will also point up any additional restrictions which national regulations in these areas may impose on certain forces of the FINABEL countries.
